JohnDEBENHAM MBE09/08/1932 - 29/09/2024
Sadly passed away in Knellwood War Memorial Home aged 92 on September 29th. Devoted husband, father and grandfather. Born and bred in Farnborough, John served in the army as an officer in Korea, then as a Schoolmaster at Robert Haining school from 1959 when the school opened, to the day it closed in 1986. Served over 40 years as a local councillor, as Chairman of Farnborough urban district council in 1967 and then as Mayor of Rushmoor 1974-1976. He was heavily involved in numerous charities and community organisations, including Devereux House, Knellwood, Farnborough Round Table, Rotary and the Appropriate Adult Scheme.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial service to be held at St. Marks Church Farnborough on Friday 8th November at 12:00.
